Kurtz Ersa will generate sales of around € 290 mio. in 2025, a year marked by geopolitical tensions and challenges in the global market. This represents a side step compared to the previous year. Since the middle of the year, there has been a strongly positive development, which can be attributed to strategic decisions and a consistent focus on market needs.
A central element of the business strategy is the implementation of the “global footprint”. This means that production takes place where the markets are and where Kurtz Ersa can be competitive. It is not a question of relocating all production from Germany to other countries, but rather of producing in a targeted manner where geopolitical conditions and market factors dictate localization. This is the only way to achieve growth. In 2025, the company further strengthened its presence in international markets. This included the opening of new application and Demo Centers in Vietnam and Thailand, as well as the opening of branches in Romania and Singapore. These expansions enable direct customer support and are part of the core strategy of emphasizing the high relevance of the sales markets in Southeast Asia and Eastern Europe.
A significant milestone for 2025 was the start of production at the new production facility in Ciudad Juárez (Mexico), which opened in September 2024. This step not only increased local capacity but also contributed to the optimization of supply chains. The team in Mexico ensures competent support for customers in South America and responds even more quickly to their needs. The greatest growth was achieved in Asia. Kurtz Ersa has been in the market for over 20 years thanks to its local production in Zhuhai, in the Pearl River Delta. Over the past two years, the product range has been expanded at a rapid pace thanks to the great commitment of employees in China and Germany. Customers appreciate this. As a result, production capacity for mechanical engineering has recently been expanded by 15,000 m².
An important step is the entry into the semiconductor and microelectronics industry through the acquisition of the business operations of ATV Technologie GmbH and Häcker Automation GmbH. These strategic steps strengthen the company´s expertise in the value chain and expand the product portfolio. ATV provided access to high-temperature vacuum reflow soldering machines for the chip industry, and Häcker Automation brought Kurtz Ersa into the process technology for microelectronics and microoptics in the production line. In the Electronics Production Equipment division, personal customer service was maintained at a high level and innovative solutions were presented at trade fairs. The focus was on technology trends such as artificial intelligence, smart factories, and green energy. The strategy of offering solutions from a single source is paying off as demand for automated production lines continues to rise.
The group currently employs around 1,650 people, including 99 trainees and dual students, which represents a training quota of around 10% in Germany. The Pulse Check conducted in the fall - a survey of employees around the world regarding their satisfaction with Kurtz Ersa - once again yielded positive results: Over 80% of the workforce are very satisfied with Kurtz Ersa as an employer. Sustainability remains a key focus of our corporate strategy. By achieving a silver medal in the ESG rating, we have once again demonstrated that we are continuously improving in all four assessment categories (environment, labor and human rights, ethics, sustainable procurement) and are now among the top 4% of companies rated in our industry. We have also come closer to our goal of becoming CO2-neutral* by Kurtz Ersa´s 250th anniversary in 2029 and communicate our progress transparently, among other things, in our annual sustainability report, which we converted to CSRD-oriented reporting in 2025.
“Despite a challenging market environment, we are satisfied with our results and would like to thank our entire workforce for their tireless efforts,” emphasized Thomas Mühleck, CEO of Kurtz Ersa. “Proximity to our customers on site is crucial to our success. Our combination of central expertise, regional market development, great innovative strength, and high speed around the globe gives us decisive advantages. We are optimistic about the future and are consistently focusing on all the opportunities that present themselves to us worldwide. With our extremely robust financing and equity base, we believe we are very well positioned to continue growing in 2026!”
