Insights@KurtzErsa - People. Opportunities. Experiences.Nikolai, dual student of industrial engineering with a focus on sales management
I am studying industrial engineering with a focus on sales management in my sixth semester at Kurtz Ersa - and I can say that it was exactly the right decision. Even when I was selecting my dual partners, I was impressed by Kurtz Ersa as a qualified and international employer.
What makes the dual study program here special is the direct practical relevance. I can apply a lot of what I learn in theory directly - be it in projects, student research projects or in day-to-day business. One highlight for me, for example, was supporting a construction site at BMW in Landshut, where I was able to gain an insight into casting machine technology.
During one of my practical phases, I worked on optimizing a foam process and was able to apply my knowledge of physics, technology and process understanding directly. That's exactly what makes studying here so exciting: you help to shape it.
The working environment at Kurtz Ersa is very collegial. I was warmly welcomed in every department I was assigned to. It was particularly helpful that former dual students actively involved me and supported me with my coursework - that made it much easier for me to start and develop.
If you are interested in a dual study program at Kurtz Ersa, I would advise you to choose a course that really suits your own strengths and interests. It's also worth finding out about life in Mosbach and the study structure at an early stage.
The dual study program is generally divided into theoretical and practical phases. The theoretical phases usually last three months and end with examinations. In the first semesters, the main focus is on technical modules. During the practical phases, you will work on topics relevant to the company, get to know different departments and find out what you are most interested in.
Looking back, I'm surprised at how focused and practical the course is - and how much support you get. I feel like I'm in really good hands here.
