Bangkok | From May 13 to 15, 2025, the Kurtz Ersa Southeast Asian Sales & Service Meeting was held at the Long Shine & Kurtz Ersa Application Center in Bangkok. Under the theme “This is Our Defining Moment: Accelerate Growth in SEA!”, sales and service partners gathered to jointly define the strategic direction for the coming years.

Key topics of the meeting included a comprehensive review of the past fiscal year and a detailed analysis of the current market situation. Although the market is picking up, significant political and tariff uncertainties remain. Participants particularly discussed short project lead times, rapid decision-making, and intense competition in pricing and delivery times. The Southeast Asian region is increasingly gaining importance due to its large market of around 750 million people, strong GDP growth, and comparatively attractive manufacturing costs. Kurtz Ersa follows a clear strategy: “We are where our customers need us,” emphasized Bernd Schenker, CEO of Kurtz Ersa´s Asian Business Unit, in his keynote speech. The focus is on local production, local sourcing, and local service. Many standard machines are already produced in the Zhuhai facility, and soon all standard machines will be manufactured there, enabling direct cost advantages to our customers - while guaranteeing our high German quality standards on a global scale.

Another important component of the meeting was the introduction of the new sales approach and strategy for Southeast Asia. The aim is to significantly expand the sales funnel with even more competitive prices across all product segments. Implementing a CRM system and intensifying collaboration on each project will further enhance customer support. Additionally, extensive product, process, and know-how training was conducted for the service team, with the clear goal of establishing Kurtz Ersa as the undisputed number one in service within the region. Our application and demo centers play a central role in this approach. During the meeting, the new Kurtz Ersa Singapore team led by Managing Director Ulrich Dosch was also introduced, clearly emphasizing that we are building upon an already successful sales and service network, which will be further strengthened through additional investments.

We were also pleased to welcome the first female service engineer from our service partner Long Shine - a clear sign of our commitment to diversity and equal opportunity. Additionally, there was a brief recognition of the successful 30-year partnership between Kurtz Ersa and Long Shine. Ivan Cheah, owner of Long Shine, was presented with a remastered telefax from 1995 as a token of appreciation symbolizing this longstanding cooperation. Bernd Schenker, CEO of Kurtz Ersa Asia, and Ivan Cheah have enjoyed a personal collaboration spanning more than three decades. Our strong partnerships and reliable network form the foundation for future success. Our customers can continue to rely on Kurtz Ersa as a trustworthy, ethical, and sustainable partner. We thank everyone involved and look forward to a successful future in Southeast Asia!
