Machine builder receives "Successful.Family Friendly" award
In the company competition "Successful.Family Friendly", the Kurtz Ersa Group is one of this year's award winners. This means that the seventh-generation owner-managed mechanical engineering company belongs to the select group of Bavaria's top 20 companies that were honored for their particularly family-friendly corporate culture. All small, medium-sized and large companies based in Bavaria with a "profit-making intention" were eligible to take part - with almost 300 applications, the 2021 competition set a record in terms of numbers. The cross-section from all sectors is striking - from craft businesses to medium-sized companies to global market leaders, everything was represented.
"Family-friendly HR policies stand out and will be the business card that gets people talking in the future. In the case of the award winners, you can see that the compatibility of family and career is possible without any problems and is a matter of course. The central challenge for the future of the economy is the search for skilled workers. A family-friendly environment pays off in two ways: Finding skilled workers, retaining skilled workers. After all, family-friendliness is a seal of quality that future skilled workers attach great importance to when choosing their workplace. The advantages of family-friendliness are obvious: less employee turnover, higher identification with the company, easier recruitment of skilled workers, less absenteeism, increased productivity and a better working atmosphere. Particularly during the pandemic, family-friendly companies were able to respond flexibly and quickly to changes in working conditions. I hope that many other Bavarian companies will follow the excellent examples," emphasized Bavaria's Minister of Economic Affairs Hubert Aiwanger, who honored the winning companies together with Labor Minister Carolina Trautner in the Kaisersaal of the Residenz.
HR Manager Judith Seindl and Thomas Mühleck, CFO of Kurtz Holding GmbH & Co. Beteiligungs KG, accepted the award in Munich on behalf of the company: "Our bouquet of family-friendly measures is large and colorful - the portfolio ranges from flexible working hours and mobile working to child holiday care and courses as part of the in-house academy to digital communication via our employee app. In addition to the academy, the jury found the high level of flexibility that employees are given through direct agreements with their supervisors particularly noteworthy. This demonstrates great trust in employees and managers and is in line with Kurtz Ersa's values and guiding principles.
Presentation of the award
A convincing overall package that made Kurtz Ersa an attractive employer in the Mainfranken region and world market leader. "The entire HR team is extremely pleased about the award and sees this as an incentive to further expand the offer in the direction of family friendliness in the future," Judith Seindl concluded.
Corporate Competition "Successful. Family Friendly"
The "Successful.Family-Friendly" award was jointly organized for the third time by the two Bavarian State Ministries for Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy and for Family, Labor and Social Affairs. The aim of the prize, which is awarded every two years, is to honor family-friendly corporate policies and their positive effects on the image and economic success of companies. In this way, the competition aims to anchor the importance of a family-friendly corporate culture even more firmly in the world of work and in the public's consciousness, and to encourage imitation of the award winners.
