In a condensate trap, condensable material is removed from a stream of gas. A stream of hot gas is passed over cooled surfaces, on which the wanted materials are deposited by condensation. Condensation traps are used, among other things, in reflow soldering systems to remove outgassing ingredients of solder pastes from the process gas atmosphere in a targeted manner. The targeted separation in the condensation trap prevents contamination of the process chamber and facilitates cleaning and maintenance work.
