There are different solder nozzle geometries for wave soldering. The name as well as the special geometry of this soldering nozzle goes back to its inventor. With the Wörthmann nozzle or wave, the solder is pumped through staggered, vertically arranged rows of holes, whereby it hits the assembly almost vertically from below. This creates a highly dynamic flow behavior and is therefore a good solution for solder masks with deep openings.
