60 participants at the 7th ERSA-Bulgaria Technology Day
Sofia | The seventh edition of ERSA-Bulgaria´s Technology Day at the Novotel Sofia was a complete success with 60 participants. The company not only celebrated the good response from customers and interested parties, but also its tenth anniversary. Several specialist presentations offered the participants in-depth insights into current developments and future trends in electronics production - Area Sales Manager Christian Ott was sent from Ersa headquarters to speak about “Zero Defects Strategy in Selective Soldering”, digitization in production processes (keyword servitization) and “Maximize First-Pass Yield Performance”. Dietmar Wolpert reported on “Innovations in Hand Soldering” and automatic residual solder removal in the rework process. Kazuki Watanabe from Tamura Elsold provided a differentiated update on how soldering materials - alloys, solder fluxes and solder pastes - can be used even more efficiently in the future.

The absolute highlights were certainly two presentations given by business partners from ERSA-Bulgaria – firstly, the extremely lively presentation by M.Eng. Stoyan Stoyanov from FESTO on the complex expansion of an existing wave soldering system into an extensively automated production system. On the other hand, the possible optimization potential through the use of AI, which Sebastian Legierko, Head of Sales Europe at Viscom SE, presented eloquently. Dietmar Wolpert expanded on the pure theory with a hands-on unit on the new Ersa HR 600 P rework system with scavenger unit for automated residual solder removal.
In addition to the technical presentations, the Technology Day offered several opportunities for intensive exchange and networking – for example at lunchtime or during a coffee break. The 60 participants from over 30 companies used the ERSA-Bulgaria Technology Day to share experiences, forge new partnerships and discuss current challenges in the industry. In addition to providing a platform for knowledge transfer, the Technology Day was also an important opportunity to further strengthen the Bulgarian electronics production community.
