Strong Kurtz Ersa Running Team at the Start of the WÜ2RUN 2026
The weather forecast for the WÜ2RUN 2026 on June 11 was rather mixed – but the weather gods were kind to the athletes who had registered for the 20th-anniversary corporate run in Würzburg: It remained dry throughout the entire race and during the after-party as well. This allowed the more than 600 runners to tackle the 7.4 km course under ideal running conditions; the starting gun for the main field went off right on time at 7:30 pm. The route started at the TG Würzburg stadium, followed the banks of the Main River, continued toward the Old Town with the Vierröhrenbrunnen fountain, crossed the Alte Mainbrücke bridge, and returned to the finish line on the other side of the Main. The entire route was lined with fans, families, and friends cheering on all the runners – a wonderfully peaceful sporting event, just as one could hope for. A diverse group of 33 runners from Kurtz Ersa took to the starting line – everyone was there, from Works Council member Dirk Beyersdorf to Global Board member Andrea Carta. Our colleague Christina Schmitt delivered an outstanding athletic performance, finishing in 32:56 min – the fastest time among our group and the fastest woman to cross the finish line. Congratulations to all runners, and a heartfelt thank you to the organizing team led by Franziska Pfannes, who did everything possible to ensure we could focus entirely on the race!
