As a system supplier with in-depth process expertise, Ersa has been synonymous with networked THT production for decades. Transport peripherals for wave soldering systems were already in use at the turn of the millennium. With the boom in mobile phones - remember Nokia and Siemens - and the switch to lead-free solder, SMD came to the fore and the interlinking of classic THT lines declined. Today, however, THT production systems are completely en vogue again.
Intelligent linking of process steps
Applications such as wall boxes, frequency converters, EV charging technology, and inverters for drives and solar cells combine thick copper and digital functions on a single circuit board. As a result, “line automation”, i.e., the intelligent interlinking of simple to complex process steps, is crucial for achieving top marks in quality, first pass yield, and throughput - and is therefore now also an integral part of the Ersa Product Portfolio.
Ersa VERSAFLOW (selective) and POWERFLOW (wave) soldering systems play a central role here. Before and after this, THT placement machines, ergonomic manual placement stations, VERSAGUIDE placement control, VERSABRUSH assembly cleaning, and VERSAEYE inspection can be seamlessly integrated – linearly, at an angle, or with returns above and below the machine. Supplemented as required by screwdriving, gluing, and other stations, always geared to customer requirements and current and future products.
Special attention to ergonomics
Height-adjustable workstations allow switching between sitting and standing to pass goods carriers to machine operators at a comfortable working height. This increases quality and throughput - and reduces physical strain. A practical example: In an operator-optimized system, workers in regular operation at are relieved of at least 1,200 tons per year by raising the goods carriers to working level.
