Growth guarantee as an unavoidable necessity Kurtz Ersa Group

THINK GLOBAL - ACT LOCAL. Driven by this motto, Kurtz Ersa has developed into a leading international manufacturer of production equipment with great success in recent years. In the past, the focus was primarily on building the world´s best sales and service network. Due to geopolitical developments and the increasingly regional characteristics of the different markets, Kurtz Ersa expanded its strategic orientation by expanding a global production platform.

NEXT STEP: LOCAL FOR LOCAL. In the past year, Kurtz Ersa has taken two further major steps to expand its position in the important growth regions of the Americas and Asia and to meet the specific requirements of its customers there.

BIG IN ASIA!Kurtz Ersa Asia

In its plant in Zhuhai, China, Kurtz Ersa has already built Kurtz Foam Machines (N-LINE) and Ersa Reflow Systems (HOTFLOW THREE) for the Asian market with great success and was only able to hold its own against the increasingly strong local competitors.

Driven by ever-increasing local manufacturers, price and delivery pressure in these markets is enormously high and can no longer be competitively served by machines or materials only from Germany. As a result, there was a risk of losing market share in these enormously important markets for Kurtz Ersa. Many of our international key customers already make it a condition that we produce in all important regions. In addition, there were the geopolitical challenges and the associated customs tariffs. In order to react to all these challenges in time, the production of the POWERFLOW ULTRA wave soldering system and the selective systems VERSAFLOW ONE and VERSAFLOW 3/35 for the Asian market was successfully set up at the Kurtz Ersa plant in Zhuhai in just a few months.

This was only possible through professional project planning, as well as through the excellent and cooperative partnership of the project teams from Wertheim and Zhuhai. With the claim of local for local, but only one global quality standard, Kurtz Ersa sends a clear signal to its customers regarding competitiveness and uncompromising technical performance at the highest level. It is already clear how important and successful the global footprint strategy is for Kurtz Ersa: Production in Zhuhai has been operating at full capacity for months and preparations for the new factory with over 20,000 m2 are in full swing.

MOVING FORWARD TOGETHER!Kurtz Ersa Americas

With the relocation of its N-LINE EPS Moulding Machines, the Kurtz Ersa Group is opening the next chapter in its planned expansion. Our aim is to better meet the requirements of the North and South American markets. This strategic move follows a successful year of Ersa reflow production at the new Kurtz Ersa México Manufacturing (KEMM) plant in Ciudad Juárez. Our strong global production presence in Europe, Asia, and America enables us to respond effectively to trade barriers and tariffs, acting in the best interests of both our customers and the Kurtz Ersa Group. Having production plants in US and Mexico gives us an optimum on flexibility and optimization.

Thanks to our unique footprint, we are more than just manufacturers - we also have capabilities that give us an edge over our competitors. Our successful relocation of German A-LINE systems to the US illustrates this potential - sales figures have risen by almost 300% since then. We are confident that similar successes are possible with the N-LINE, especially as we explore opportunities in the South American market. Our local productions in Mexico and USA will offer significant advantages, including reduced customs costs, making our machines more attractive to customers.

The enthusiasm within the North American team is palpable as our colleagues in Juárez prepare for the integration into our toll manufacturing license IMEX and preparing for preassembling and assembly processes. Finally this will be a joint project between Kurtz Ersa, Inc. and KEMM. Early reservations confirm that our customers are eagerly awaiting these steps. “Our strong global presence and integrated success across all production sites will strengthen engineering, parts supply, and knowledge transfer, benefiting the entire Kurtz Ersa family,” says Albrecht Beck, President and COO Americas.
